Our cabins are "sleeping" cabins which have bunkbeds and
mattresses - you must bring along your own linens or sleeping bags. Cabin guests
use the nearby campground showers, restrooms, and laundry. All cabins have
electricity provided. The smaller one-room log cabins can accommodate up to 6
guests having one large double bed bunkbed and one regular size bunkbed. The
larger two room cabins can accommodate 10 guests having combinations of bunk
beds. Cabins can be reserved from May through September. Our campground is resting in a
beautiful meadow flanked on all sides by the higher hills and the whispering
pines - scenic as the day is long and just as quiet. Our neighbor to the south,
Circle B Ranch (chuck wagon suppers & trail rides) - both a step away. Boating,
swimming, and fishing at Pactola Lake are only 2 miles to our south. Crazy Horse
Memorial and the old west shootouts at Hill City are only minutes away too! Just
100 yards down our beautiful country road you can hike the Centennial Trail. A
bit further, visit the old mining town of Silver City, not a tourist center by
any means but, chock full of nature trails, fishing holes (the locals prefer
Jenny Gulch and Rapid Creek), abandoned gold and silver mines, and a host of
wildlife (sorry, no bear in the Black Hills!). The air is clean and the water
pure. Direct sun arrives long after daybreak and by late afternoon we're in the
cool shade. Guests enjoy a starlit campfire, and roast a marshmallow or two.
The campground is open May through September. Our General Store has a full line of groceries, snack bar and
western-style gift shop. The playground is close by and we
have billiard tables for the young at heart. Please know that we take pride in our hospitality and pledge to do
everything possible to see that your visit is an enjoyable and memorable event.
Thank you for considering Whispering Pines Campground and Cabins. We look forward
to hearing from you and the possibility of hosting your family get-together or personal vacation.
